This photograph is shot from my favourite seat in my favourite café: the Luxembourg in Amsterdam. It is where I come for espresso and to lose myself in the latest issue of French or Italian Vogue. Haute couture and the Luxembourg's golden light ensure that I am transported to another time and place: not here, not now.

I wish I was right there, right now holding a long cigarette and a champagne flute instead of a luke warm cup of instant coffee!
Isn't old advertising the best? The glamour, the style... modern advertising gives you nothing to aspire to, except being a lady whose tummy doesn't "feel like a football" or a woman who is "free from the discomfort of embarrassing wind".
