Martha Doesn't Live Here Anymore

It's now more than two months since Martha left us forever. Her belongings have been divided and scattered, leaving an empty flat that used to be her world. All that remains is the door bell with her name - the bottom one - and the desire to press it and discover that it's just been a bad dream. That she's still up there on the top floor, alive, well and as magical as ever.

I'm sorry to hear this, but curious to know more about Martha.

The sign with her name I took it off and gave it to her Cuddly Orphans.

Susan: Martha was the sublime translator of writers such as Stevie Smith, Gertrude Stein, Ben Okri and Djuna Barnes. She was six feet tall, stylish and charismatic. Much missed.

Poes Pietje: You're my total hero! Thank you!! The Orphans are delighted with the nameplate.
