This is James Jesus Angleton who wrote poetry in his youth before joining the CIA. He famously remarked that whereas a common thug could kill a person, it took the talents of an intelligence service to make a murder appear to be a suicide. Not surprisingly, in his wake, quite a few suspected "moles" topped themselves.
